Vinsetta Garage is quickly becoming one of Detroit’s jewels for dining and fun.  Its eclectic design, based on an old garage, complete with garage doors, rusty steel rafters, and accent lights using carburetors as their base, sets you up for what will be a bold, blue-collar experience.

And the food does not disappoint!

We had a table of six tonight, including one with a Gluten allergy and another who did not eat meat.  Suki, our waitress was up for the challenge.  Without missing a beat, she brought us dinner.  And smartly, she did not bring us appetizers.  I say that because not because I do not like appetizers (I really do!), but portion control is important.  And with a group this big, we were bound to share.  And I would not have wanted to spoil my appetite on starters instead of the main act.

Vinsetta has a great burger selection.  Our dinners included three of them including the burger of the week called the Heirloom Burger – a medium-rare burger on a bed topped with balsamic mayo, a slice of mozzarella cheese, fresh pesto, heirloom tomato, and fresh basil; the Duck Burger, a sweet combination of a duck patty, cherry compote, and caramelized onions; and a Macon Bacon Burger using three kinds of smoked bacon and pancetta.  Suki also served up a personal Pesto Chicken Pizza and a roasted chicken dish for our Gluten-free diner.  YUM!

All of the meals were accented with some of Vinsetta’s traditional sides including the famous Woodshop macaroni and cheese.  We then finished the meal with a serving of Faygo Rock n Rye Ice Cream.  A happy ending to a great time with good friends in a really cool place.

Happy Eating!
